Course aimed at mountain professionals (TD2 Mountain Guides for Climbing, TD2 for Canyoning, TD2 for High Mountain and TD3 for High Mountain) who have not received specific training in guiding and safety on via ferratas equipped or that want to unify criteria, techniques and updated procedures.

It includes
  • Climbing, Canyoning or High Mountain Teacher/Guide
  • Liability and Accident Insurance
  • Travel to the practice location
  • Appropriate mountain clothing for the time of year, approach footwear
  • Water and food
  • Attack pack. Optional rope bag.
  • Harness, helmet, and gloves
  • Via ferrata energy absorber kit (stitched) + rest rope
  • 2 extra K carabiners
  • 1 basket-type insurer (Reverso, ATC…)
  • 2 one-way carabiners
  • 4 extendable express tapes
  • 2 cords for Machard knot
  • Several safety carabiners
  • 1-2 maillons
  • 1 single-use rope, minimum 40m
  • Mechanical blocker Microtraxion, RollandLock, Spoc, etc.
  • 1 sewn Kevlar ring of at least 60cm
  • Sewn rings 120cm + sewn ring 60cm (we recommend Kevlar or polyamide)
  • Personal safety equipment (first aid kit, knife, mobile phone, headlamp)

TD2 Mountain Guides for Climbing, TD2 for Canyoning, TD2 for High Mountain and TD3 for High Mountain

The client may withdraw from the requested or contracted services, having the right to a refund of the amounts paid in the following cases:

  • Giving notice at least 7 days before the start of the course.
  • If the course is suspended or moved to another date due to bad weather, not having a minimum number of participants or force majeure reasons.
  • For medical reasons that prevent the student from taking the course (proof will be required).

If none of the reasons described above apply, failure to attend the course will result in losing the total amount paid for the reservation.

  • Contextualization of the activity and its demand
  • Progression on via ferratas
  • Equipment and materials for the progression and safety of the guide and the client
  • Review of current equipment. Configuration of guide and client equipment according to their characteristics
  • Gestures in progression
  • Criteria for a correct adjustment of the ratio
  • Group organization
  • Progression without string
  • Rope progression systems
  • Adaptation to the sections and to the whole of the road
  • Safety, evacuation and rescue. Adapted and specific techniques

Objectives

  • Leading groups on equipped via ferratas
  • Adapting guiding techniques in climbing
  • Update knowledge of driving techniques and safety in this area
  • Analyze the technical proposals
  • Adapt the equipment and driving maneuvers to the characteristics of the route

Course phases

Session 1. Theory in the classroom

  • Estimated time: 3 hours, from 18am to 21pm
  • Required materials: the student must bring the materials for the practical part for supervision by the teacher

 

Session 2. Via Ferrata Practice

  • Estimated time: 6 hours, from 10am to 16pm

 

Session 3. Rescue on via ferratas

  • Estimated time: 6 hours, from 9am to 15pm
