Self-rescue while climbing

Date: May 23 and 24, July 4 and 5

  • Format: Climbing schools in the central region. Sierra de Guadarrama.
  • Group: from 2 to 6 people
  • Duration: 2 days

 

In this course we will learn basic self-rescue techniques on the wall to solve situations such as blockages of descenders, rope entanglements, loss of equipment or accidents of greater or lesser magnitude.

  • Approved climbing rope for single use. One per rope team.

  • Anchor line for each climber, single or double, fixed or extendable.
  • 4-6 loose HMS carabiners per climber.
  • Basket + HMS Carabiner. One per climber.
  • Locking pulley + Carabiner (The Petzl Microtraxion is one of the best working; if you have another one,
    Bring it; we'll need at least one per rope team, and there will be three teams. Which carabiner is best suited?
    a locking pulley is usually a symmetrical safety pulley)
  • 1-2 lengths of cord for a Machard knot. If you have it pre-sewn and made of aramid, even better (50cm/ Ø5,5mm). If
    You don't have it prefabricated; it is made with two cords of 120cm +/- and Ø7mm in diameter.
  • 1 aramid auxiliary cord: minimum 3,5m / Ø 5,5mm. We will use it for belays and maneuvers.

  • Straps or rings for mounting meetings, 120cm and up.
  • A pocketknife with its carabiner. If you don't have one, it's not a problem.
  • Quickdraws. A few per rope team. 8-12
  • Quickdraw for work. It's a quickdraw with two locking carabiners, one of them an HMS.
  • Pedal, old webbing, or cord to simulate a pedal. (Aid climbing pedals are not suitable. It must be
    something light)

People with experience in multi-pitch climbing who want to learn self-rescue techniques on the wall to be able to independently resolve problems or accidents that may occur during climbing

The client may withdraw from the requested or contracted services, having the right to a refund of the amounts paid in the following cases:

  • Giving notice at least 7 days before the start of the course.
  • If the course is suspended or moved to another date due to bad weather, not having a minimum number of participants or force majeure reasons.
  • For medical reasons that prevent the student from taking the course (proof will be required).

If none of the reasons described above apply, failure to attend the course will result in losing the total amount paid for the reservation.

Course phases
